Career Opportunities in the Judiciary: Recap of the Dean’s List Visit to the Higher Regional Court in Celle

On February 13, 2026, the members of the Dean's List of the Faculty of Law at Leibniz University Hannover set out for a visit to the Higher Regional Court in Celle.

Our excursion began at 9:30 AM at the main train station, after which we traveled together to Celle. Upon arriving in Celle, we first took a walk to the State Justice Examination Office (abbreviated LJPA), as this building will play an important throughout our legal studies.

Afterwards, we proceeded to the Higher Regional Court of Celle, where we were welcomed in the plenary hall by the presidential advisors, Judge Dr. Müller-Quanz and Judge Dr. Neubauer-Bruns. Following an introduction about the OLG Celle, its districts, and judicial administration, we were given a tour of the facilities of the OLG Celle.During this tour, we had the opportunity to speak with judges from various legal fields – including family law and civil law – and thus learn more about their professional careers and daily work routines.

The event concluded with a discussion over coffee and tea about the topics of legal clerkship and career opportunities in the judiciary.

Overall, the event provided the participants of the Dean’s List Program with an ideal opportunity to engage with judges at the Higher Regional Court and gain initial insights into potential future career paths.

The participants of the Dean's List are high-achieving students in their fifth semester who have recommended themselves for this support program through particularly good academic performance in the intermediate exam.
