The student initiative "JurMent" is starting again in cooperation with JurSERVICE in the summer semester of 2026. Therefore, interested mentees and dedicated mentors are being sought. "JurMent" is particularly aimed at students from the second semester and those transferring universities, as well as mentors starting from the fourth semester.
How and when is the best time to write term papers for the advanced courses? How do I prepare in a structured way to succeed in these courses? What else can I expect in my studies, and what opportunities do I have? These are the kinds of questions best answered by students who have already mastered them. "JurMent" aims to provide students in the early semesters with contact persons who can personally support them and engage in discussions on a wide range of topics.
Within the framework of "JurMent", students are given further opportunities to discuss and network with peers from their own and higher semesters. Additionally, various events are held within JurMent, such as the last round's joint visits to various law firms and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. You can find retrospectives on past events here.
Future mentors should engage in various fields both within and outside the Faculty of Law and actively participate in university life. A prerequisite is passing, or at least not being at risk in, the intermediate examination. The of a mentor is on a voluntary basis.
All students in the second semester or those transferring from another university at a higher semester can register as mentees.
Participate
If you would like to participate in "JurMent", feel free to apply by January 20, 2026, at 11:59 PM here. Based on the application form, mentees will be assigned to mentors, and the results will be announced at the kick-off meeting in April 2026. The exact date will follow.
If you have questions, the organization team is happy to assist via email at jurment@jura.uni-hannover.de.
Note: As a student initiative, JurMent does not aim to provide formal teaching. If you are considering applying mainly because you need help with content-related questions about lectures etc., we recommend faculty resources such as the Exam Lab or Tutorial II.
We look forward to welcoming you!
