They stand out for their above-average grades, and some of them further contribute to Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) with new ideas:
About 25 students and one student group were honored by the university's presidency with the "Leibniz Talents" award on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. In total, Prof. Dr. Julia Gillen, Vice President of Education, awarded prizes amounting to 11,950 euros at the Communications Center "Königlicher Pferdestall."
Among the award winners are also students and graduates from the Faculty of Law: Ms. Laura Syring and Mr. Johannes Wittmeier were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements. In addition to Ms. Gina Häusler, the student initiative "Recht vermittelt – Law from Students for Pupils," represented by Mr. Yannik Bühring, Mr. Tom Cirksena, Ms. Paula Götter, Ms. Ariana Mirzadeh, Mr. Paul Nikolic, Mr. Sebastian Polzin, and Mr. Luca Röckemann, was awarded for their voluntary commitment. Ms. Häusler earned the prize through her long-standing dedication to the Student Council of Law Hannover and the Federal Association of Law Students’ Councils e.V. "Recht vermittelt" offers free workshops on basic rights at schools, aiming to promote the understanding of democracy.
The faculty is delighted by the commitment of its students and congratulates all the winners on this special recognition of their achievements.

About the Award
The presidency awards the "Leibniz Talents" prize once a year. The goal is to make high-achieving students and student groups with innovative initiatives more visible and to encourage further development. The award is endowed with 500 to 1000 euros per prize. The prizes are financed by the Christian-Kuhlemann Foundation, which is administered by the Leibniz Universitätsgesellschaft Hannover e.V.
This year, above-average performances in master's or bachelor's theses or in legal advanced work for Category 1 were recognized, completed between the winter semester 2024/2025 and the summer semester 2025. The works clearly and significantly stand out from the other 95 percent of the submitted works in the course of study. Applications could be submitted by the students themselves or by others.
