Personal Changes in the Dean's Office: Dr. Christine Ivanov as New Managing Director of the Faculty of Law

On December 1, 2025, Dr. Christine Ivanov assumed the position of Faculty Managing Director of the Faculty of Law at the Leibniz University Hannover.

Dr. Ivanov has been working at the Faculty of Law since October 2024. As of July 2025, she already acted as the interim Faculty Managing Director and was responsible, among other things, for financial and personnel matters, the supervision of the Faculty Council and appointment procedures, participation in project and funding applications, as well as the organization of faculty-wide events. For instance, she was already responsible for organizing the celebrations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty.

From 2017 to 2024, Dr. Ivanov was a research associate at the German Department of the Leibniz University Hannover. There she worked on interdisciplinary research projects on gender-sensitive language, in cooperation with the former chair of Prof. Dr. Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf at the Faculty of Law Hannover, in teaching, and in supervising theses. Additionally, since 2020, she has been a part-time managing director and trainer at SprachBewusst.SprachGerecht GbR.

Dr. Christine Ivanov received her doctoral degree from the Leibniz University Hannover and the Université de Genève. Her dissertation on anti-feminism in the debate on gender-conscious language was graded summa cum laude.

About the Tasks of the Faculty Managing Director

The of Faculty Managing Director serves as an interface for the leadership and coordination of faculty administration, strategic advising of the dean's office, responsibility for financial and personnel processes, as well as the support of committees and projects. Dr. Ivanov's goal is to ensure good study, research, and working conditions and to sustainably further develop the Faculty. Her particular concerns include promoting young researchers, equality, internationalization, and supporting research endeavors. It's important to her to have transparent and reliable cooperation across all status groups.
