Registration deadlines for minor subject courses, key qualifications and legal languages in the summer semester 2026

Economics and Social Sciences Minor Subject Courses

In the summer semester 2026, courses will again be offered for the acquisition of the social science or economics certificate, which is required for admission to the compulsory subject examination in accordance with § 4 para. 1 no. 1 lit. e) NJAG.

Science and the Law: Evidence, Expert Testimony, and Decisions

  • Students of the law degree program can alternatively acquire the foreign language certificate or the economic or social science elective certificate. A test in consultation with the lecturer must be taken for this purpose.

A registration for the lottery is possible from 02.03.2026 at 09.00 . The distribution of seats will take place on 30.03.2026 at 10.00
Registration for all events is possible. However, students can receive a spot in only one of the courses. Students who do not attend the event without an excuse will be banned from the next session.

Further Courses for the Acquisition of Key Qualifications

Participants in the Legal Clinic can have their participation credited as a key qualification. Further information about the Legal Clinic can be found here.

Legal Languages

In addition, in this summer semester, courses for acquiring the foreign language certificate according to § 4 para. 1 no. 1 lit. d) NJAG in connection with § 7 StudO will again be offered. An overview of all offered courses can be found in the course catalog under "Legal Languages".

To acquire the certificate, it is required that an exam or a paper in the foreign language has been completed or an oral presentation has been delivered, and the examinee has demonstrated the required communicative competence in the foreign language (§ 7 para. 2 sentence 2 StudO). Please also note the information about the performance record in the respective courses on Stud.IP.

Note: In some of the courses, the number of participants is limited. The allocation of places is done by lottery. The dates for the lottery can be found below.
