On March 21, 2024, the student and non-profit association InterAct Law e.V. welcomed the Advocate General at the ECJ Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Juliane Kokott, LL.M. (AU), S.J.D. (Harvard) in Hanover on March 21, 2024.

In the course of the discussion moderated by Jonas Vonjahr, the audience learned, among other things, how Ms. Kokott mastered her academic career, in what ways Professor Kokott was shaped by her stays abroad, what forms of sexism she was exposed to, how she successfully reconciles her family and professional life, which legal skills she believes are crucial for successful legal work and what approach she uses to increase her efficiency in publishing. Professor Kokott also described her day-to-day work and how she has overcome her biggest challenges to date. She also encouraged the audience to have the courage to be imperfect and just go for it.

At the end of the talk, the audience had the opportunity to ask Professor Kokott questions and engage in a personal exchange, which was well received.

InterAct Law e.V. would like to thank Professor Kokott for taking the time and making the long journey from Luxembourg to Hanover despite her numerous commitments in order to share a highly inspiring conversation with the audience.

We would also like to thank the enthusiastic audience and look forward to seeing them again at future events.
